Our Interventions

Beginning September 1, 2011 NC-ACE began the implementation of universal and targeted programs in Robeson County.

Those programs are:

  • Positive Action© a universal program for all middle school youth;
  • Teen Court a targeted program for the most high risk youth (first time offenders);
  • Parenting Wisely© a universal program for all parents in need of additional parent skills training;
  • Students Against Violence Everywhere© a frontline universal violence prevention program delivered at multiple middle school sites

NC-ACE emphasizes the interconnections between these programs and will be measuring the overall impact of these interventions on the rates of violence in Robeson County for a period of five years ending September 30, 2015.

NC-ACE implementation of programming will cease September 30, 2014.

Beginning July 1, 2014 the NC-ACE interventions will begin transitioning to the Robeson County Teen Court and Youth Services organization which will also has future plans of incorporating a Mentoring program modeled after Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America, Casey Life Skills and Botvin Life Skills Training© another evidence based model into the RCTCYS framework.

Robeson County Teen Court & Youth Services through the S.A.V.E. and Teen Court interventions began the “Strike Out Bullying” Campaign where several community presentations and town hall forums were conducted to look at the problem of bullying in our schools and communities. At each presentation a screening of the documentary video “BULLY” was shown and discussed. RCTCYS will continue to promote the campaign and anticipate additional financial support from private foundations and local donations to help with our cause.
